What are export controls?
How do export controls affect my research?
What projects are subject to export controls?
If my project is subject to export controls, how do I comply with the regulations?
What happens if the Principal Investigator (PI) or the project staff violates export control laws?
These are just a few of the questions answered during export and sanctions training. Please select the training link below based on these session descriptions:
The “General Export and Sanctions Training” session is designed as a general awareness training for University personnel interested in export and sanction regulations compliance. This session provides an overview of the applicable regulations and University policies and procedures governing compliance with these regulations.
An alternative to the General Export and Sanction Training is the new CITI (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative) Export Controls Course. This online course is broken into four modules (General Overview, ITAR, EAR, OFAC) and each module consists of informative training materials and a short quiz. Once all four modules are complete, the certification will be sent to OESRC to confirm course completion.
The “Restricted Research Training” is designed for researchers who are engaging in export controlled (ITAR, EAR) restricted research projects that require a Technology Control Plan. This training is targeted at project specific requirements for safeguarding export controlled research and the security protocols that must be followed.
